Reception following Evensong at Church of the Good Shepard in Cashiers on Friday evening August 1st. The Service begins at 5:30 PM.

In 1882 Queen Victoria gave funds together with the Sultan of the Ottoman Empire donating the land to establish a modern Ophthalmic Hospital which has been in continuing operation by the Venerable Order of St John with five hospitals and clinics in Gaza, the West Bank and East Jerusalem. The Order is fulfilling a centuries old commitment to serving others , no matter who they are, where they come from, what they believe or what they can afford.

Money (tax deductible) raised by subscription at this Reception will go to support the salary of a Nurse at the Eye Hospital and for rehabilitation of the Hospital in Gaza.
